Question for you machinists that use digital readouts

My Bridgeport has a D_ANN Mfg Co (Winsted, CN) digital readout. I have used other brands on other machines but can't figure out how to clear only one axis. I can only clear both at once. Anyone use one of these brands?

    Seriously???? Just give the little thingy on the side two complete turns.

    Can't remember what brand of D. R. O. I have on the two vertical mills. But on mine I can reset one axis at a time. I set the Absolute to read 0 0 and the Incremental to whatever pattern I need.

    I have an Accu-Rite DRO on my mill, and a Jing DRO on my lathe. On both of them, select X or Y and then hit the clear. That returns either to zero in absolute or incremental mode.

    Both are Cincinnati machines of 1957 vintage, so the DROs are retrofits.

    Years ago, I used one of those on a Jet lathe. If it has the on/off buttons by each of the XY displays, then I believe that you turn on the axis to clear, while the other axis button is in the off position. However, time might be clouding my memory...

    Thanks for the (most) replies guys. I had a thought last night that maybe the "X" and "Y" marking on the left side of the display might be a touch screen that would pick that axis to clear. No luck as I feared. This thing is too old for touch screens. I have the following buttons available: EXM, STO, PRE, and CLR. I'll contact the shop whose owner (sinced passed) gave me the Bridgeport a few years ago. Though the shop is almost all CNC now, there may be someone there that has used my mill long ago.

    You could try googling for info on your device. There might be a manual that you could download.
