    When you're hot, you're hot.

I would not doubt that my beard was either actively on fire, or was smoking (having just gone out) - when my buddies were telling me how good my beard looked. (As they drove away laughing.) πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰πŸ™Š

Buddy, got in on the grilling fun and festivities also.

He was retching/gagging all last night. I thought maybe he had eaten some grass or something. I let him out when he came to put his head near mine on the bed, when he is letting me know he needs to go out. (I don't get mad at him, but praise him and let him out.)

Let him back inside and after a few minutes, I could tell he was back in the bedroom. Silently standing there. Told him to get on the bed, which he did. Layed down pressed up against me for the rest of the night, retching/gagging.

He jumped off the bed and went back out to the living room as it got light, like he does. When I went out in the living room, I noticed some small pieces of blue rug in the kitchen. (What the Heck?)

Went on out in the living room and could see Buddy had partly eaten a blue throw rug by the back door. Spotted those absorbent pads that are at the bottom of meat packs. (High end "Heritage Blend," Chuck, Brisket, Sirloin burger patties.) Apparently some blood got on the carpet with the pads/container and he proceeded to eat it.

I noticed he had coughed up a large wad of carpet and absorbent pads inside his house. (His cage/crate.) Figured out what had been going on. Was just glad he had coughed it up, instead of getting a (for sure) bowel ubstruction. I went out on the back deck where he was and chastised him lightly, while petting him and holding up the carpet he had coughed up. "Stupid, what were you thinking. This stuff can kill you." πŸ™„

You just never know. (Lesson learned.)

Just glad my Bud is okay.

Those flare ups are not funny at all. Hope you are okay.

Two things. When lighting my concession equipment I always leave things open so that gas does not build up. If you want to see a flare up try it on a fryolater or flat top griddle when lighting them and any gas builds up.

Also I also always use a fire stick. In fact I use a longer one because I have to get into some pretty crazy places to light things and need to light things quickly before gas does build up.

From my POV, it did happen to someone else, and it was funny......

Glad you and buddy are okay.

    Charcoal doesn't have that danger.

Oh,..................................I'm pretty sure I could figure a way to make it dangerous. πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Good burgers on the grill, with all the fixin's are SO much better than any store bought (fast food) burger. Fresh sliced Tomato, sweet onion, lettuce, mustard, combination of American/Swiss cheese melted on. A good quality hamburger bun. Ate two yesterday evening. Have two more for this evening.

(Plus) Two grilled Southwest marinated style chicken breasts and some grilled Taters.

"I'd burn 1/2 my beard off, for a good burger." Wait, what?

Dang Ken, glad you and buddy are o.k. As @SW0320 mentioned always open your grill and allow it to air out a bit before relighting.

I usually enjoy your cooking posts, but this one makes me wonder. How did the burning hair smell go unnoticed? That to me is one of the most ominous and nasty smells in existence. 😝 Bob

It will not light with the top off, (Unfortunately) or with the gas on low. I went through almost two books of matches over the course of 35-40 minutes. Maddening. 😣

Yes, one of those extended lighters would have been nice and would have been the ticket.

When it kept going out, a few curse words might have been uttered, (okay, yelled) thats why my buddies stopped to talk/laugh with me when pulling out of our shared back driveway on their UTV.

Not sure why I didn't smell hair burning. (Probably because it was flash seared.) Kinda windy on my back upper deck. Musta been why it kept going out. That plus I try not to cook on High. (Med/low for me, please.)

Ate my other two burgers last night. Very good. Worth all the aggravation.

*(But) Hey, at least it doesn't have a "motherboard." πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

It's not that bad, Kevin. πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

(But) Give me some time, I might try to fire it up for some Nathan's dogs, here later on.
