My Wife Says These Gloves are Done - No Way - UPDATE
My wife caught a glimpse of these gloves and was horrified, "Go buy new gloves today" she says. "What's wrong" I say.
Just some Gorilla tape and I keep going, don't have time, everybody's gloves look like this, right? Can anybody back me up on this? If I threw gloves away every time they rubbed a hole, I'd have to buy them by the gross.
So,.............it was time to let them go. On top of a cosmoline soaked Palmetto Sate Armory box, atop the burn pile, I lit the match. An honorable Viking goodbye. Took a pop off a longneck and waited for any rats or snakes to run out.

Booger, got your back. Reminds me of conversation with Alaska State Trooper at laundry mat in Delta Junction in '89. Had broken windshield on my new truck and needed to find glass shop. Trooper said "What for, everyone up here has a broken windshield, fix it when you get home son" -----------------------Ray

Same here. I work in the words a lot and cutting, splitting and stacking work is tough on gloves. My leather gloves look the same especially on the finger tips.

I am well know in the family for "extending" the life of every thing my family got to where they will not throw any thing away if i am close by or I might see it in the trash lol
I keep the stanard repair kits duct tape electrical tape super glue and epoxies on hand
I worked construction 13 yrs when younger I never wore gloves except winter I would wear the cheap jersey cotton gloves in the winter my hands were calloused big time .
I have dozens of pairs of work gloves gave to me over the years many still in the packages and use them ocassonaly my hands have become citiyfied and not as tough as they use to be . Like the rest of my body i guess LOL
One big exception if I were a lineman the heavy insulated rubber gloves they have to use I would be over carefully about any defect Evan a pin hole could cause you to be DRT

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not alone with my glove situation. Once I buy a new pair and break them in, I just keep 'em going. They are Wells Lamont and are my preferred type. I've tried some other mixed-mesh with leather types, they didn't hold up any better.

Nah, those are done. Your hands are very important, treat em right. Same applies to your feet.

I think you are a kind of cheap skate. But some of mine look kinda like that, though I didn't spring for the tape.

my gloves look similar, Seems odd that almost every pair of gloves has one or two areas that wear through before the rest fail.

My work gloves have most of the fingers protruding from the glove. I thought that was normal.

i gave my wife a pair of welding gloves to use a week or so ago ( I never used them welding any way )
while trying to calm down three feral kittens that were way wild they were like holding a set blender blades on high
biting and scratching , now they come to her looking for attention.

I have one driving pair that is for my 1980 4x4 hunting vec. (touring gloves)

Back in the day...........I helped my uncles haul hay bales on occasion.
I learned very quickly that I needed good gloves.......and to KEEP them that way. 😬
They had fun.....breaking-in the city kid.
Learned a lot of lessons in farm country. 👍

When one glove in the pair goes beyond a duct tape finger repair, I save the other one. Sooner or later, another glove for the other hand will turn up and I put the remaining gloves together. Wearing work gloves is not a fashion show.

When I first saw a pair of gloves that were made without finger tips on them for hunting many years ago, I decided to just cut the ends off of most of mine anyway! Finger tips are overrated around here! If you always hold ice cold beer cans in your hands, they become numb so the cold never bothers you! 😁

Well I can't just throw them away, they'll have to be tossed on the burn pile and go out like a Viking.
