This Hawaii fire thing is getting interesting....
The State of Hawaii is planning on suing the power company for not turning off the power before the wind storm. Now I just heard that they did turn the power off, six hours before the storm. Might get interesting before it's over...

last I heard the power company was blaming the local fire departments.......

Maui County filed a lawsuit against HECO (Hawaii Electric Light Co.) last week

The diversity hire competence reared its head in a big way when it was discovered they withheld water for fighting the fire for 5 hours waiting on an environmental impact report for diverting water slated for agricultural use to fight the fire.

You can’t make that up. There seems to be a complete lack of ANY common sense left. Hawaii like CA. is a liberal pasture and it looks like that insanity cost people lives -

No coordination among parties involved but I bet they all use the proper pronouns as taught.

Coupled with Biden's $700 slap to the face, that blue state might turn red in the next election. I'm not holding my breath, because it is unlikely the woke leftists will truly wake up to the source of their pain, but they are hopping mad at the moment.

Hawaii the West, West of California. The power company gets demonized if they keep the power on and if they turn it off and grandma on a ventilator dies because of the high winds. Where is to "common sense laws" on this one?

Common sense indicates: If you have absolute NEED for electric service, provide your own backup generator(or other short term alternative power source). I understand this isn't an option for some/many but it is the best option. Total dependence on ANY public infrastructure is a big mistake.

Mobuck - Just saying how the power company is going to get blamed. Like PG&E here in California did.

Why didnt they shut off the parts that were in danger?
They would then get lamblasted (and sued) cause somebodies grandma lost power and her CPAP stopped working

Play the blame game.
Wind storms and electric lines down and fire.
AND Brandon's attempt at buying some re-election votes (using our tax money) backfired.
News says be aware of criminals intercepting the donations. Surprise

Easy answer Hawaii is a iron clad (D) controlled state top to bottom, local State and Federal. That is the answer in a nutshell.

Daniel Inouye was the king of bringing "pork" to his state and the people there are so dependent now on government handouts. Really sad..

Learned about him on "Drunk History". Didn't know he brought pork to that state. No wonder they love SPAM.
