"We are the Government, and we are here to help." 🙄

Ask the American Indians, how that worked out for them.

Unfortunately we are turning into a Police State. Reminds me of another Country, from back in the 30's. 🤔

The secret service is only keeping their secrets. Protect the guilty and prosecute the innocent. The corruption goes all the way to the top.

The secret service protects the prez and the ex's. Presidents that is, not the Donald's former wives. They also investigate bank crime, credit card fraud. They do not investigate local gang banger shootings or shop lifting.

According to what I'm hearing there is some of that happening now......I didn't ask for details, but the Secret Service is more and more involved with things I didn't realize they had any foothold in.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^That^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Is what they are "Supposed," to be doing. God knows what their "Mission," is now.

"Domestic Terrorism," would be my guess. 🤔

Don't forget the soon coming 87,000 armed IRS agents will be gunning for all of us taxpayers in the future locking down your money, opening safety boxes and searching under your mattresses and in pillows for your savings and even shooting your dog. When the tax man comes the freedoms goith. Ask Al Capone who nailed him....

The Secret Service main job is that of federally armed bodyguards, to protect high ranking political officials of the United States and to assist in the protection of heads of state of foreign country’s when visiting the United States. They will also offer protection for former presidents when asked to do so. They will assist other agency’s when it is applicable to the protection of the United States.

the Secret Service's mission is two-fold: protection of the president, vice president and others; and investigations into crimes against the financial infrastructure of the United States.

The Secret Service (SS) couldn't even determine who left the bag of cocaine in the White House. clearly they are even less competent than the FBI.

your local office just got a new boss who had to show his worth by making his agents be more proactive , lol

It’s not indicative of a nationwide shift. The USSS is always stretched pretty thin. ESP now that campaign season is starting. And they don’t do investigations other than threats against protectees and bank fraud type crime. Protection comes first they can’t do time sensitive cases like drugs or violent crime. Anyway, you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to get a case accepted for federal prosecution

oh and by not saying whose cocaine it is, they are saying it. If it were some disposable staffer, there would have been a big show, lol

Or actually have fewer investigative resources in that realm.

They know who dropped the bag.

Since we're discussing the SS and the FBI... I worked out of the Federal Courthouse in Nashville for several years, on the same floor with the SS and FBI. We'd see them coming and going, but most of them weren't real friendly sorts. One of my coworkers was a jolly jokester. He went to the bank on lunch break and got a stack of crisp new dollar bills, came back to the office, and used rubber cement to glue them together at one end. He made them look for all the world like a tablet of dollar bells. When he got his chance, he sidled up to a SS agent in the restroom, and in a hushed voice, said, "Hey buddy. Wanna buy a tablet of dollar bills?" He was detained and interviewed for a couple of hours but released, because the money was real, and he hadn't really done anything but embarrass a SS agent.

Does anyone think that a Secret Service agent would take a bullet for a top politician?? 😲 Is that a requirement for the job?

I just watched the movie "Dave" so ........

There may actually be regulations about 'defacing currency'.

I've dealt with 'Federal agents' a few times and was always concerned about their tactics and intentions. I worked for a Federal agency as a 'fraud investigator' for a few years until I realized that some of those enforcement agents would just as soon put the cuffs on me as they would the individual I was investigating. It was all about 'making a case' (notching their gun so to speak) w/o much regard for who got pinched in the process or for what reason.

No shortage of agents taking a private citizen, Hunter Biden to a courthouse. Only to be whisked away after the deal went south.

If former President Trump would go to jail, would they have agents in jail protecting him? That would be an odd scenario.

Good question, if convicted I am guessing house arrest.. The Dems don't want him in jail they just want him convicted so he cannot run for president again..

If president Trump was convicted and sent to jail: Yes he would be given protection while in jail by the Secret Service.

If president Trump is convict: Yes he can still run for president. All that is required to run for president is, be a natural born citizen of the United States, be 35 years old, have spent 14 years as a resident of the United States and have spent $5000 on your campaign.
