Question for you woodworking experts
Last winter I modeled and made 2d drawings for a number of small 2 piece boxes. I wanted to make boxes for loose taps, dies, parallels, step blocks, etc. I started to make some this summer but haven't finished any except one. I have milled many but now need to attach lids & hinges. I find that the one I'm currently looking at had a warp in the machined base piece. I'm talking about about 5x8 or maybe 6x10 boxes. Some of you may remember I asked about laminating boards and that went well. The one I have finished seems fine but I did that cutting, machining, stain, & sprayed lacquer all within a week. I'm wondering if the final finish helps protect against warping. I have a lot of time on the others but have only checked one. All the material comes from Menards and is their Mastercraft oak boards. I have 12 of their boards in my den for shelves and are fine. I should add that it's been quite humid here the last couple of weeks. Any ideas guys?

Sounds to me like some of your wood was not completely dried. I too have made furniture from oak and have never had that problem. Have used laminated wood with oak veneer for cabinets with good results.
Have seen my share of warped oak and avoid during selection process.
