ruger 10/22
Anyone use a timney trigger in their 10/22?
If so, how do you like it?

I don't, but had Brimstone work on mine, and am very impressed, well worth the money IMO. Unless you're looking for a pull weight in ounces, these guys might be worth a look.

No, But I bought and installed a Volquartsen trigger on mine and some other minor adjustments. LOL. I am a huge fan of Volquartsen parts, and especially their triggers, over timney. Price was about the same.

Don't waste your money on Ruger BX trigger. I couldn't tell any improvement over the factory unit.

Not on a 10/22, but I've installed several of the Timney Calvin Elite triggers on Remington 700s, and I am a huge fan of Timney products. Made in USA, and worth the money.
Like mentioned above, I've also installed several of the Volquartsen trigger kits on 10/22s, including my own, and was very pleased with the results.

Just the opposite here. I managed to get one for $20 on the auction side and it was a great improvement over the factory trigger I had when I did my build. Is it a Timney or Volquartsen - not even close, but it surprised me that it works so well. If I ever do feel the need to replace it, the Volquartsen will be the one for me. Bob

I use Timney triggers on my larger caliber rifles and have always loved them

I had a very early Timney trigger for a ruger 10-22 that was just replacement parts not a drop in assembly. vey early version
it would double fire on occasion . so I sent it back I after contacted them , they sent me a new complete drop in set up with in a couple weeks good company for sure
it worked great and their service was unbeatable

I hunt with mine no need for a two pound trigger in the woods.

"I hunt with mine no need for a two pound trigger in the woods."
THIS. I consider a 10-22 a 'chore gun'. As long as it goes BANG each and every time and the bullets land fairly close to aiming point, I'm fine with the trigger.
I added a BX trigger to one fairly accurate 10-22 and while it did improve the pull, I didn't see a magical leap in accuracy.

I had a different experience with the BX trigger. I have them in 3 different 10-22's and they were much better than the factory triggers. If I were building a target gun, I would have used a better upgrade. The BX triggers gave me a better, smoother trigger pull which was all I was looking for in my upgrades....

I agree with these guys. A BX trigger and a Williams aperture sight make the 10-22 a just about perfect, handy-carrying squirrel rifle in the woods. as well as fun on the range. A lighter trigger in these "no country for old men" woods around my place would worry me.

I’ve got a Tunney trigger on my custom made Mauser in 7x57mm. Excellent trigger. Now I did try a Volquartsen on my 10/22, personally I didn’t care for it. The original trigger had between a 6 to 7 pound pull, so I thought I would try a Volquartsen trigger. It was great as a target trigger, just a little over a 1 pound pull, but for hunting it was terrible. If I would go to aim at a rabbit wearing gloves I would always fire off a round before I could aim. Trigger had more of a flat surface where the original Ruger trigger was more curved and allowed for more room between the trigger and the front of the trigger guard. I ended up taking the original trigger and polishing the trigger notch and sear removing all machine marks ending up with a mirror finish when done. Trigger pull now is 3 1/2 pounds, perfect for me. Should have done this in the first place and saved money, but, that’s part of the fun of this hobby.

Does Timney trigger set it to what you want like KIDD? I had them set mine to 20/20 ounces. One of these days I need to send it back and have them set it heavier like 40/40.

Well I did it. Got a timney trigger for the 10/22 I like the configuration especially the mag release.
I will try it in the rifle when I finish the rest of the work. Headspace set to .043,
barrel set back .030, etc.
I have a 10/22 with the volquartsen trigger, and a
10/22 with a Kidd trigger, I like both of them.
All three triggers set at 2 lbs.
Looking forward to using the timney, hopefully next week.
Thank you all for your input.

Even though I used the Volquartsen, Waltermoe is correct on trigger pull. I only use this gun for competition, so I'm good at 1lb pull. If you are going to hunt with it, set it for 3 1/2 minimum. Mine is so light, you barley touch the trigger to set it off. I don't feel comfortable, letting anyone ever shoot this gun.

I agree with you guys 100%. I have an Anschutz 64MS with the factory 2 stage 8 ounce trigger. If I haven't shot it in a while it takes a few shots to get used to the trigger or it seems to go off before I want it to. Definitely not a gun you just hand to someone to try out. Bob

Volquartsen triggers in both of these.

I used an 8 ounce jewel trigger for years. Loved it. But on on a semi auto.
