Dog paws,,,
Kimber's paw pads are dry and rough feeling. She is in the house on carpet or tile, and outside in her grassed yard. No walking on asphalt, or gravel, but there is a concrete patio in her back yard.
What can I rub on her pads to moisten/ soften them as a person uses hand lotion for same purpose.
Keep in mind;
There will be no success with booties or socks
whatever goes on will be licked
nothing that is going to stain the carpet
with those restrictions is there any option left? Thanks

Joe, One of my Bullmastiffs had allergies that frequently manifests itself in dogs by paw licking. She would lick them until they bled. The vet would treat and bandage them, they cleared up but then she would start licking them again when the bandages were off. My solution was to buy a pair of boys suspenders and a 6 pack of adult white socks. I would leave them on until she got them wet or dirty from outside. She didn't mind them and it worked like a charm.

Went to local Murdoch's. Didn't have the stuff Mr.P suggested, but got this;
Already applied. I love how it goes on, makes immediate difference, and Kimber let me apply it w/o a fight.
Just reading more on this product from this link, liking it more and more. Thanks for the replies and picture too.

austin20, that cocker is stylin'. I'm not sure from the pic if the booties part is vinyl or leather. Personally, I feel that the paws need to breathe to heal properly. I'm no vet but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn last week.

But keep some Bag Balm around anyway.
I have a square tin can of Bag Balm about 1/2 full that I've had for several years.
That reminds me I need to apply it to a sore on my shin.
I had a really bad infected Tick bite down in my Naval (where the Indain shot me) and I told my PCP that I applied some Bag Balm and it healed fast.
He said "What is Bag Balm"
I told him about Bag Balm and also told him not to prescribe or tell people about such because that would be like him shooting himself in the foot. People will heal faster and and not need additional Office appointments. and that he might have to find a second job due to income loss.

This stuff we got is working good and can already see improvement after just these few applications.
I read through the company's web site at the link above and we are quite impressed with them and their product.

Kimbers were almost to the point of cracked, which leads to bleeding and infection.
Our Vet has always said soft,& smooth.
Everything I find on internet search says soft, smooth.

No lick, no chew. She's just a big rough dog, a female without a feminine bone in her body.
