Don Julio comparo. A wee bit intoxicato.
Let it be said that for the price, there is no better tequila than Don Julio, master of the blue agave.
in short, I prefer the reposado. It’s the undisputed champion of reasonably priced tequila. The añejo is amazing, but the reposado is as good as it gets.
if you like tequila and you haven’t tried Don Julio, give it a shot <— yeah, I said it.
can’t type anymore werdz thank s Don Julio you amazong maker of spiritz and happiness!

When it comes to Tequila, I have extremely pedestrian tastes. I drink the cheapest Quevero or Sauza I can find. Heck, I even drink Mezcal with the guisano. It is about drinking right?
3 -
I drink tequila only rarely. Thought Sauza was just fine, but my current bottle of Hornitos Reposada is better. When I finish it (in another year or so), I'll look into the DJ.
I like classic margaritas, but they're a bit sweet for me. My favorite is tequila and grapefruit juice. No sweetness, just good tart flavor with that smooth tequila undertone. I'll grant you that mixing it that way doesn't require the best tequila. The occasional on the rocks, however, does.

We use to play pool, (9 ball) and you had to call each shot, if you missed you had to take a shot of tequila. It kind of took the sting out of losing.

After a few losses how would you know? 😁

Notice that I said, “we use to”.Lol. Those days are long gone, but they were good times.

Was telling my son the other week about the Mezcal that comes with a worm in the bottom. He didn't believe me so......

Tequila makes me laugh more and talk more than I usually do. I'm never sad or angry when I have tequila. With whisky or scotch, every once in a while it brings out the dark side so I'm real careful not to have 'just one more' when it comes to those.
Ahh...the big blue agave. Who knew you could be so useful!
Mas Tequila!

A good and proper drunk doesn't get hangovers.

I have always been a fan of the stories that began with. “ hold my beer”

War stories start with "There I was, when suddenly..." But they also always start after a few drinks.
Which both brings us back on topic and cuts Alpine out.

Good for me!

So, we have established Alpine is virtuous. And wrong.
3 -
I don't drink has nothing to do with virtue. I don't know enough to quit.

Some of us have seen what alcohol has done to loved ones... It's not Virtue Signaling, just a conviction of the very soul.

It is not "virtue signing" it is just 20 years of seeing the damage and misery of what alcohol has done.
"I just had 2 beers" is what every drunk in history has said as they had just wiped out a entire family by their drunken actions.
Just want no part of it.

I don't think avoiding alcohol is virtue signaling. You're not preachy about it, you don't think you're better than others because of your choice. I've got not problems with your decision at all.

The one I miss is Lapis Anejo. Gawed that was some oaky goodness. Haven't had it since the first blue agave shortage back in early 2000. Since then I can't find that. Had a few bottles of Porfidio (the one with the glass saguaro cactus in the bottle) after that but this is in the silly prices. I had a few bottles of El Fumador (reposado) this was a surprise buys at Grocery Outlet as cheap buys.
I'll buy a bottle of Monet Alban when I watch "Poltergeist".
Before I kick off I'll have to get a few Lapis Anejo no matter the cost.
