They always say we were just looking for xx nothing else now were looking for yyy and nothing else

Just me but why not just run a full lab test when you get the blood but that would cut into profit

My ER visit 6/15 wasn't nearly as expensive (for my insurance) as I was expecting. They ran blood tests for everything --w/o much success BTW. Lab draws, test, specialty tech perusal-all much lower cost than at a larger medical center 120 miles away. The primary cardiologist was called in on an emergency from his office 2 buildings away and didn't charge an exorbitant fee.

I met a fella' one time missing an ear and had occasion to ask him about it. He said it had been cut off in a knife fight, but he hadn't really "lost" it. He lifted up his shirt, and sure as hell I could see the outline of his ear under the skin on his belly.

Said he couldn't afford a plastic surgeon to reattach it so they buried it under his skin and he could do it when he could afford it.

Knew a fellow once that lost an ear to a biting mule. The ear was not saved.

This is one of the more surprising things I have read today.

I wish they'd done that with my prostate. I might need it again, some day.
