You show a German Walther Modell II sporting rifle, capable of operating as single shot, bolt action, and semiautomatic. The original tangent rear sight was removed to make room for the American made Lyman peep sight. I don't know what number Lyman, it may be adapted from some other rifle.

The bolt handle is broken off and the toe of the stock is chipped in the same way as mine.

That magazine is valuable, Carl's Walther repair service lists a 5 shot for $150, no tens available.

    I think you did well.

I lived next door to the town gunsmith, he neatly patched the stock of my Sportmodell - a plain bolt action - and it looks good and shoots well.

I agree that the Lyman peep is an add on, there are a lot of German rifles looted during the Occupation with American peeps and scopes added.
