Just saw something for the first time ever.
We had both of the spotted fawns in our back yard running around. Then all of a sudden they took off at full speed when they saw Mama standing at the edge of our east woods. Then it happened, they both started nursing. Then Mama jumped up after about 2 minutes and told them that was enough.
Country life is so much better than city life. 😀

Been about a month or so since we saw any nursing here. The last few times we saw the fawns try the mamas weren't putting up with it. Gotta make them stand on their own two ... er... four feet and leave mamma alone! Bob

that's going to be an issue. I managed to get within about 60 yards from her once before she took off like a bullet.

Maybe get up at 3:30 if you have to chase her around the pasture.
