Excellent deal! Was it from Mr. Chang's House of Firearms?

    Negative.

That would be my Chinese food order.

    What brand of shells, Ken?

"American Sniper." (Not sure who makes that. Print too small in ad to read it.) *Looked it up. The Buckshot is made by ZSR Ammunition. (Sarsilmaz, Turkey.)

They had 10/rnd boxes of 12ga Slugs and 00 Buck. $4.49/box. (Reg. $11.49)

I was on that, like White on Rice. (Can I say that?) πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

Am I doing my maths right?

    $55 / 90rds = $0.61111 per round

Looking on that Ammo seeking website, I see that you are able to get 250rds of Fiocchi 00 Buck for $140.59 shipped.

$140.59 / 250rds = $0.56156 per round for made in the USA Fiocchi.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Tax added to sale Drobs^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yeah I read a bit on ZSR, after learning they are the maker. Their getting hammered for their Centerfire Rifle/Pistol ammo.

Did not see any problems with their shotgun rounds. I agree not an overall great review though. πŸ˜’

With tax ($5.07 for Missouri) & shipping added to that Palmetto company's buckshot the total comes to $145.46 / 250 = $0.58184 which is still a better deal unless you want a smaller qty.

My recommendation check Ammoseek when shopping ammo here or anywhere.

Comparable 250 rd count auction side listings:

    https://www.gunbroker.com/Shotgun-Shells/search?Keywords=12%20gauge%2000%20buck&PageSize=96&Sort=4&View=1&Ch-NumberOfRoundsForSale=250

The Auction side is great when ammo is hard to find due elections, gun ban fears, pandemics, etc. Otherwise - bzzt.

I did not NEED to buy any more 12ga defensive ammo. I have (a'hem) a few on hand. I did not want a large quantity. I received my new catalog, saw this as a good deal and picked up the phone to order a few before doing my due diligence. My bad. (Who would have thought "American Sniper" ammo was made in Turkey?) Lesson learned.

Okay - So it was an "okay," ammo deal. πŸ€”

Good point, I find it's more fun to brush hog or weed wack with a 12 gauge.

    Received my shipment today.

Rather interesting rounds. Clear sidewall, where you can see the 9 balls. 1" buffer evident below the balls, but before the High Brass. Says "Cheddite -12- " on the bottom.

What I found interesting, was that rather than a traditional crimp roll on top. They have a crisp fold, with a clear disc on top, (1/8" thick) clearly showing the 9 balls.

    Interesting. Never seen that before.

Will load fire a few to get an impression of them.

(Also) Upon reviewing my order, I fell below the $49 threshold for "free shipping." $40.41 for 9 boxes. (My own fault for being an Idiot.) Got charged $10.99 shipping. That totally screwed my "deal."

Could have two more boxes of 10, free. 😣

    Wow!! GREAT Cust Serv.

Called to relay the above info. Said "Hey look, I am an over 20 year, "Buyers Club Member." Every one of my orders is above $49 to garner "Free Shipping." Could the Order taker not have said Anything?

They refunded me the $10.99 shipping. πŸ‘

I freely admited to being an Idiot and that it was my fault.

Sportsman's Guide? I used to love getting their catalog plus I visited their Minnesota factory outlet store 20 years ago. The smell of Chinese rubber was overwhelming!

They have a lot of Surplus stuff, from all over the World. Pick and choose. (You can avoid Chinese, [like I do.] If you wish.)

I've done business with them for over 20 years. YVMD.
