We all talk about and take very seriously the unending attempts to remove 2nd amendment rights. But the 1st amendment was defeated long ago. Incidents like this one prove that. As if any further proof was needed.

The moment hate speech was defined, the 1st amendment's heart beat it's last. Now, anyone who doesn't like what someone else says is free to retaliate in any manner they want. Cancel culture, wokeness, intimidation...be careful what you say and how you say it.

(sorry about the political rant in a nonPolitics thread)

Illegally obtained the drunk driving conviction?? A conviction of drunk driving is a matter of public record. Sounds like the judge and the police acted more like the gestapo.

Reading this leave many unopened holes so best sit back and wait for the facts.

However and IMHO, many newspapers & new agencies are dirty, corrupt, and partisan. They cant be trusted.

The restaurant owner, Kari Newell, claimed that the newspaper, the Marion County Record, had illegally obtained damaging information about a 2008 conviction for drunken driving and was preparing to publish it, leading a local judge to issue a warrant authorizing police to seize the newspaper’s files.

What did the police do wrong?

I don't see that story amounting to a hill of beans.

Nothing. They did their jobs, signed off a judge. What is wrong though, is that our first amendment rights, along with our 2nd and 14th, are being trampled on. Our country is looking more and more like Nazi Germany. We are darn near close to a dictatorship, in my humble opinion only.

That opinion is shared by many.

There is a good commentary on a you tube channel called Lehto's Law.
