A Native American group has put the pressure on the Washington Commanders to change its name back to the "Redskins." More than 80,000 have signed their petition.
Turns out they offended the very folks they thought they were helping. Maybe the "woke" self important dummies should have asked before sticking their nose in something that didn't concern them. Football players, more so than baseball players or certainly tennis stars, are known to be badasses and warriors. To name a team Redskins is a compliment to Indians, and also a compliment to the football players. Indians were seriously badass warriors, from the Cherokee of North Carolina, to the Comanche of Texas.
Win-win situation to name the team Redskins. If you are rational.
Somehow to Libs it is offensive. Racist or something.

Notre Dame is the Fighting Irish.
This goes back to New York City, in 1850 when Irish immigrants were fighting on the docks.
It also goes back 2,000 years when Celtic warriors ruled Ireland. The Celts were similar to the Comanche, the people with the highest status in Ireland were the warriors. There were two dozen tribes that ruled Ireland, and they were constantly at war. Something like Comanche vs. Apache in 1800 in Texas.
Yet nobody has demanded that Notre Dame change their name. Why? Because Irish are white. Libs don't get upset when something is said about white people.

The Seminoles of Florida do not want Florida State to change their mascot and they have made that plain. They are proud of connection to the university

Blacksburg, VA. changed their high school from Indians to Bruins. The adjacent town, Christiansburg, are still the Blue Demons.

No different than this Administration, spending untold millions re-naming a bunch of Military bases with historic names. (Tied to Civil War Veterans.)

Last 3 years I’ve had this pain in my neck, just figured it was arthritis. Now I know it’s from shacking my head back and forth. It really makes one wonder just how waked out some people can be.

A local team was the 'Savages', with a logo which looked a lot like the Savage Firearms logo. But some years back the liberals noticed it and blew a gasket until the team was renamed the 'Cobras'. Just one of the many little straws which will eventually break the camel's back.
