Need help to ID Luger snail drum magazine.
I acquired this Luger snail drum mag.
It only holds 10 rounds of 9mm in the main magazine part, the drum does not hold any ammo.
We tested it in a Luger and it works fine.
These were the only markings, see last 2 pics.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ken

Did ya open the drum? To see the inners

Could it be a repro for display that is legal in low cap states?

Yes I did. I too thought it might be broken or some other problem but there is nothing in the drum part. No spring or follower, nothing. The inside looked clean like there never was anything in it. I had a customer tell me it was a reproduction made in England back in the 60's. Beyond that, he couldn't tell me anything else.

It is a Model Gun Corporation replica MGC "68" dated Luger snail drum magazine that is used mostly for display. The drum section of the magazines is for show only and are hollow, and the follower spring is only the length of the straight section of the magazines which holds 9 or 10 rounds. They are made of blued metal, spring operates, and have a hinged cover that functions. They are designed to be same size as a real vintage drum. Great for a military display or re-enactments. I have heard real components can be added inside to make it functional, but I have no first-hand experience with that so take that with a grain of salt.
This link has some info on it:
