Your right over a course of time but we had a period where it was relatively stable but as of now, we have another serious spike.

It is only going to get worse, as the dollar gets weaker, fuel prices increasing and we keep importing everything.

Wait until the dollar is no longer the reserve currency. We will be like Germany in the 30's and Argentina recently.

IMHO we are living in a time where GREED is escalating much faster than fair and honest business practices.

Heck! I don't even need to have an opinion to see this going on!

I think they call it size deflation. Same as inflation, but rather instead of raising the price account of the inflated dollar they deflate the size of the product.

I am not an economist, but when a government can print what is essentially fake money by the billions, and then spend it even faster, it does not bode well for anyone.

Yep and the greed and dishonesty is centered in DC with a subset in NYC (Big Banks)

Yep, we are approaching a point where printed money could be cheaper alternative for the toilet paper I mentioned in OP.

I'll add a new term I recently heard......

"Excuse-flation"........meaning that businesses that want to increase their profits, especially over the last few years, can choose from any number of causes(China Virus, supply chain, inflation, etc.) as their.........EXCUSE........valid or not. But these days......who has to prove validity??🤔

BTW........"shrinkflation" has been going on for at least a couple of decades. I first noticed it in cereal boxes("some settling may occur"), chip bags, bath soap("new ergonomic shape"), and finally my favorite.......toilet paper rolls(let's just say I've a small stash of brown tubes, that I saved for an entirely different reason, which readily shows the downsizing over time).

Pretty soon "bat wipe" will be the width of duct tape......with the texture of 80 grit!😫
