Well good bad or ugly, I filed the paperwork today
To get on the ballot for a Township Trustee position. I am willing to spend up to $80.00 American on signs to win this position. As of right now I am unopposed but that may change by next Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
I might have signed up for a nightmare, time will tell.

Heck yeah, me too! Just send me one of those mail in ballot thingamajigs. Oh, and maybe a small gratuity for the postage, time spent filling out the ballot, emotional distress from worrying about paper cuts, etc... 😁Bob

Well, if you run as a dem, then we can ALL mail in a ballot for you! 🤔😁
Good luck, and be careful what you ask for.

My half brother was our Township Trustee for decades and his wife was the Township Tax Collector. Didn't pay much and had lots of headaches. Good Luck.

Bruce, send us all an absentee ballot or twenty. Your a good man. They will be privileged to have someone with your integrity in that position. Keep us updated. Forget the yard signs, and fly your plane over with a banner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Running for Congress may be easier then running for small town government, or riding bulls in the NFR... I ran for city council 3 times and every time I must have done something right because I was always tangling with the local press.

I wish you well in your endeavor to attain public office Bruce. If you had a Law Degree it would probably be a big plus for your platform.
Just drop me a line and I'll get that degree off to you ASAP!! 😁
In all seriousness......Best of luck to you, and hope you win!

This county is about 95% (R), the position of Township Trustee is a non-partisan position. Some folks did ask me what party I belonged to. I told them (R) and also added the position is non-partisan. I may have signed up for a huge headache if I win but I truly want to try and find more money for our depressed area to improve roads and reduce flooding.
The grant money has already been taken from us so the idea is to get as much of it back as possible. We have 37 miles of dirt roads and many of them are about 1-1/4 lanes wide with pot holes that should be named.

Well I hope it works out for you Bruce, you have my sympathy.

Good luck to you. I was encouraged by some friends to run for a county quorum court position, but didn't like the idea of abandoning my core beliefs (that the Tea Party is a little too left-leaning).

Good luck. And for God sake don’t handle or take home any classified documents. Lol

Good luck, Bruce. Last year my BIL stepped down from a city councilman's position that he had held for ten years. When I asked him why he quit he asked me if I had any idea how very dumb the average voter was/is.

Got a few cemeteries close by, I think I can muster up a few votes for you.
What's in it for me? Ain't that what a good politician would ask?

Today Trustee, tomorrow Senator, next year POTUS.

Yeah! You could be the next Calvin Coolidge, Bruce!

Interesting. I'm the president of our local sanitary district. Ran 10 years ago because it was becoming political. Now I want to retire but afraid it will revert back to a political scenario! Damned if you do & damned if you don't🤨
