Internet question
So I changed internet providers today. Went from 400 Mbps down to 300 Mbs........and cut my bill down by $50/mo.
I don't game. Only surf news sites and sites like this one. Occasionally stream a Netflix movie.
Did I make a good decision? Will I see any appreciable loss in speed or anything noticeable?

I'd kill for 300 Mbs! I think I'm running on less than 4! Yes, 4. F. O. U. R.
I doubt you're gonna see the difference between 400 and 300.
Edit to add;
Just did a speed test,
DOWNLOAD Mbps 1.69
UPLOAD Mbps 0.41
I'm surfing and my wife is watching football highlights and all is working well.
That's about as fast as I run anymore!

I'm betting you will not notice a difference, except in your bill. $50 is significant.

Yes, it is.
Supposed to get the new router Sat. Will see how it goes. I just couldn't pass up on the money saving.

$600 a year is a big deal? Not for me, but $50 a month and you won't notice a change; that is flat smart.

Agree
Other than extra 50.00 you save you will be good To go
Our service is about one level above Morse code . Smoke signals would be a improvement some days
Right now Gaming would be a joke no way even movies are some times frustrating due to buffering
I think star link is due in our area soon we can't wait I know up front charge is a bit much buy not sure how much

Be careful what you wish for. We have Infinity, good download speed, except sometimes, and only $55 a month.

Our hughes.net really sucks. I'm embarrassed to tell you what speed we have. Plus the almost constant interruptions of service.

Depending on what you drive and where you live it could be a full tank of gas or a 1/2 tank in value... sounds like a good deal to me.😀

That's another reason I switched........my current modem is out of date and I experience lots of service disruptions. Current provider says a tech needs access to coax to install new router. My coax is behind a large gun safe so..........no. My new equipment will be self install with just needing to connect the current cable end to the box.

I have fiber to my house and at no time do I get any delay. We have 6 tvs in the house, my son plays a computer game sometimes and we stream netflix, etc.
Here's our report, you'll be fine I think.
