TIKKA 308 . . final!
Tested a NEW round today and I REALLY LIKE IT!
REMINGTON CORE LOKT TIPPED

TIKKA T3x LITE
Vortex Diamondback FFP 4x16x44 MRAD (Factory replaced this scope with a NEW one after blowing it up last month)
Vortex MED high rings on LEUPOLD rail.
Altitude approx. 580 ft ASL, 98 degrees F . . . a little tail wind around 5-7 mph.
100 yards
COLD, Dirty BBL (shot 20 rounds yesterday – did not clean the gun).
First shot was a little high so I gave it ONE click DOWN (1/3”).
The following 2 shots were to my liking. I could have dropped one more click. Maybe next time. For this purpose – I’m good with these results.
Group was .686” … minus the diameter of the bullet .3 = .386 MOA! Woo hoo!
200 yards
Warm BBL – 5 minutes after firing first 3 rounds.
I did not change the scope at all because I wanted to SEE the ACTUAL Bullet DROP after zeroing in at 100 yards.
Group was 3.277” … minus the diameter of the bullet .3 = 2.977 divided by 2 = 1.4885 MOA.
AVG bullet drop was 3”.
I will pull the trigger on a deer at 200 yards knowing these results.
300 yards
Much warmer BBL – 5 minutes after previous 3+3 shots.
Using the same aim point, this group was 4.17” … minus the diameter of the bullet .3 = 3.87” divided by 3 = 1.29 MOA.
Bullet drop ranged from 9.5” to 13.5” – AVG 11.83” DROP.
11.83” – 3” = 8.83” bullet drop from 200 to 300 yards.
Remington ammo box states there is a 7.8” bullet drop from 200 to 300 yards. I experienced a ONE INCH difference that can be addressed with practice, so I MIGHT take a LUNG shot at 300 yards.

Good shooting. I have tried for years to reload better ammo than Remington CorLokts in my .270's. The slight improvements were not worth the effort.
They changed the Corlokt bullet from a soft lead point to a polymer tip, recently. I suspect accuracy may be slightly improved.
As far as lethality, the jury's still out.

That's what I tested today. The polymer TIPPED bullet.
I tried the Hornady SUPERFORMANCE in 150 gr and it was all over the place. 4" apart at 100 yards. It's damn near identical to this Rem tipped, but the Hornady scoots at 3000 FPS. I suspect that is what my gun does NOT like. Too fast.
Most of the 150 gr I have tried are all in the 2840 FPS. SP did fine, but this Rem tipped was awesome in my gun. At 100 yards anyway.
