Help Identifying this Rifle, Please
This item came in last night As Is. Missing the bolt, etc.
If someone/anyone has experience with these (Chinese?Japanese/Russian?) made rifles, please let me know your thoughts as to Manufacturer and Model.

Japanese WWII era Type 99 Arisaka, calibre 7.7mm, cut down into a sporter, drilled and tapped for a scope base, and left to rust. Value with rust and no bolt is nil.

Hawk is correct of course and the few small parts on it look to rough to resell.

I knew those two years of Japanese I took in college would eventually come in handy!
The first two Kanji are 9's.
Those three Kanji translate to 'Type 99'.
That area at the front of the receiver that has been ground off is where a Chyrsanthemum was stamped, a symbol of the Japanese emporor. Most often just referred to as a 'mum.
