I'm shocked.......absolutely shocked!!π
But then.........."it" always has been, and always WILL be, about the MONEY.
Fraudsters may have stolen $1 of every $7 in Covid jobless aid, report
Released Tuesday, the report comes straight from the federal government, and comes as lawmakers continue to process the true scale of the theft committed during the crisis.
What say you??π€
Enjoy.......more of my 2 cents.π

It is probably greater than 1 in 7. What gets me the most about these crimes is the low amount of prison time.
Heck you can rob a bank and get less money and way more prison time.
The other joke I have seen is the court ordering restitution. Like these guys will ever be able to pay back what they stole.

I cannot believe how many people filed to collect the covid money. Its tempting when you hear "free money" but there is always some catch....so I didn't even try to get any of the funds I was told we qualified for by my accountant. The idiots in this scenario are the government and how they decided to handle giving out the Covid money. Instead of looking at the yearly tax records that everyone files and automatically sending out money to the people they made people jump through hoops and gave deadlines....which made the fraudsters all too happy to jump in and do whatever necessary to take full advantage of the nonsense.

And how much of it trickled back to the politicians who got it flowing in the first place.

If they ever looked closely into the Public Aid programming, they would find fraud at a even greater level than that...

There is a local company that collected $ 750,000 in covid money for workers. (it's on a data base)
I've never heard of it in our small town of 614 folks.
Turns out is is in a small industrial complex the building is no much bigger that 50x60. They claimed 75 workers. No one I know works there.
There is no more room for 6 cars in the parking lot. and found out it is Owned by a Korean company.
I've reported it to the local mayor , he just like the tax revenue. State Representatives never got back to me.

The program had way too many faults. Without the program there probably would be a lot fewer restaurants and bars around today.
While many businesses just pivoted to doing things remotely restaurants and bars could not. It took them a while to sort out how to operate with just take out and some law changes for bars especially with liquor sales. So they needed some help.
However a lot of businesses actually saw their income increase as people were home with time to order things online.

I BELIEVE IT AND MORE. Can anyone name a government agency that is not ripe for fraud and it goes on daily since any agencies inception?

I have a lady friend that owns a resturant . Well established for over 50 years, all but lost her business due ot the covid damdemic shutdown.
The payroll protection money saved her business. So go figure. Some needed it, some ripped it off.
I really do not find fault with people taking advantage of any givernment hand out.
What I do find fault with is the gooberment allowing the misuse.

Thieves, gonna be Thieves.
Prosecute them to the full extent of the Law.

Ummm...... fraudsters steal more than that every year. Think about how many people draw a "check" for no good reason. Then think of the people you know that actually NEED those checks. The ones that need and deserve the $ are inly getting pennies on the dollar because of all the deadbeats milking the system!
They should investigate this fraud on the American tax payers, at least half as much as a certain January date! We could actually lower the national debt then!

That is, unfortunately, funny as hell. The Government is so corrupt, inept and useless you can rest assured there will be very little "Justice" handed out to the lying thieving scum that stole you tax dollars in openly fraudulent applications.

Thank you, Mr. Trump.
A lot of vacation homes and new cars were purchased with PPP money. A lot of plane flights were purchased with stimulus checks. A lot of jobs went unfilled for a year+. because the feds more than doubled the average unemployment check. None of these programs had any real vetting. It was a desperate President and a lackey Congress trying to buy an election.
