Seems so. I’m disgusted. The FBI had a warrant to search the safe, but there was nothing compelling Liberty to hand over the code. Slimy…and shortsighted. Glad I don’t own a Liberty safe.

Meanwhile Apple refused to help crack the iPhones of REAL terrorists! SMDH. I will never buy a liberty safe. Maybe they will go the way of bud light!

Safe ownership 101: First thing you do after purchasing a safe is to change the combination. Duh.

I sure miss the green font. I assume that's what you meant!

Would not surprise me if they threatened Liberty using all the powers of the federal government to include the IRS. We already have seem such tactics used against political foes.

It takes a certain key to open my safe, and it would be a big mistake to use a cutting torch or any other heat producing tool to open it. Seems that is where I store 4 pounds of FFF black powder. (taped to the hinges and lock)

jimdeere  - Just slap "anti" in front of Liberty and you're good to go.

That is what I was thinking too

I assume they got heavily leaned on, too. I also assume that the "back door" is built in to allow locksmiths to open safes in circumstances where it's necessary. Such as when any of you guys kick off and never left the combo to your wife - and that's where you keep the will.

So when the feds come to your house, just have the safe door open and ready for them to take what they please.

There is. There is a soft spot for them to drill and open the safe, without seeing any damage. That is what they told me when I bought my four safes.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Yep^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If they want in, they are going to get in. (Not super difficult.)

Give me a (fully charged) set of, Cordless drill, a grinder w/cutting wheel, a Sawzall w/metal cutting blades and I can probably get in any of your safes (and mine) in about half an hour. (Give or take.)

Go out to youtube and search for "safe cracking magnet"

    Scary.

I've read a couple news articles on this today. Liberty most certainly cooperated with the FBI. When the backlash hit home they started back tracking on their policy. They claim that in the future, and now as well, if you own a Liberty safe, they will, upon request, destroy the entry information for your safe.

    Probably too late.

Another reason to lock up your tools at home to make the burglars work by making them come with tools.
