I quit buying bacon quite a while ago. High prices and low quality were my reasons.
Have smoked a lot of pork tenderloins in my smoker ever since and cutting it into thin strips and frying up with eggs for breakfast has been GREAT!! Crispy lean and tender it is and I don't miss bacon!
I'm gonna try that. Thanks for the tip

Here is a Pro tip. :
Find a spiral sliced smoked ham when they go on sale. (Less expensive Store brand works fine.) Cut the slices into strips. Place them on your dehydrator, or on a elevated rack on a sheet pan in the oven @ 175° (apprx). I do the dehydrator route because I have a nice set up. (Maybe apprx 6-8 hrs @185°)
Comes out like super lean bacon. Hardly any fat at all. (Similar to Canadian bacon) If done for about 8-12 hours, (like dried Jerky,) it lasts a very long time. Addicitve to eat. Very, very good.
Try it, I guarantee you will love it.
*You will never go back to bacon w/all the fat.
