Prayer for Grandson please
Was riding his bike,(yesterday afternoon) hit some gravel and went down. Motorist stopped and called in a ambulance.
Got to hospital and into emergency surgery for spiral break Tibula. Got it fixed with rod and pins.
They won't let him go home yet. They having trouble regulating his pain and blood sugar. He is diabetic.

Spiral fracture of the tibia. The other bone is the fibula. Were both bones fractured?
Skiers were getting one of those about once a week when I lived in Steamboat Springs Colorado. They flew them to Denver in the chopper.
It is a bad fracture but a good doc can fix it right up. Young people's bones heal up pretty well. I hope it goes well for him.

Oooh....that's a painful one for sure. We see/hear of it a lot when skiers hit the deck and their bindings don't release.

Blood sugar is headed in right direction
Still trying to control pain. They have switched pain meds several times already.

Was released and back home this afternoon. Still hurting. Blood sugar is within good range, but emphasized how important it is that he keep very close check of it. This has always been hard to get through to him. Hopefully he will pay better attention.
