Popcorn
Donna came home from the Amish market , with some old fashion popcorn the other night. Man, I forgot what it was like to have some real popcorn, not the microwave stuff. The only draw back to the whole process was, I used too small of a pot, and put in too much cornels. 😮. Let's just say "WE ALL" enjoyed popcorn, including the dog and the two bowls Donna took over to the elderly couple across the street. I have been banned from the stove again, and am on probation using the kitchen🤣 Going to make some more tonight, while watching the late games.
Seriously, we had fun making it this way. I remember my mom making it over the fire in the fireplace when we were kids. She also bought the different color popcorn. The actually still make it. It came in a jar, and was four different colors. I ordered some online this afternoon. Mom would also by that Jiffy Pop , but it wasn't as good as the old pan and oil popcorn.
Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday weekend. Oakie

Love me some "real" popcorn. If that is all it takes to get banned from the kitchen, I'm in! Bob

I used to have a 6-qt Stir Crazy popper. I loved to add a couple squirts of Tabasco to the oil. Would eat the whole batch.
But I also managed to crack two teeth chomping down on partly popped kernels. Reluctantly gave the popper away.
Recently bought a bag of Boom Chicka Pop Buttered popcorn and luxuriated in it. It isn't freshly popped, but it's darn good.

Garrets popcorn out of Chicago is delicious. I use to have it shipped to my daughter when she was at school (UT) in Knoxville

We grew Native American origin strawberry popcorn. Pretty red kernels, that pop up white as any other.

Popcorn is a good treat for dogs too. As long as you give them just regular popcorn, without salt and butter. I can't wait to get this multi color popcorn. It will bring back some good childhood memories.

I never heard of it, until now. I had to go look it up. They said it is the best popcorn there is. Very healthy, because it doesn't have an additives or chemicals, like commercial popcorn.
Is there a specific type of corn that you have to grow, for popcorn, and what is it. I mean obviously you cannot use regular sweetcorn .

Our dogs eat a lot of popcorn. We lose the thing that goes on top of the air popper and the popcorn goes flying until you cover it ...
