Rut Roh -
Was sitting on the couch last evening and glanced over at my PMR-30 on the couch arm. The mag was missing/gone. Rut Roh.
I had been out and about on my ATV yesterday and I usually take the PMR with me. (Two milk crates, mounted to the rear rack.) I keep a gallon of gas, some basic tools and my Shorty (Harley style) Helmet in there. The PMR Lives in a nicely padded Military M12 Holster. I picked up the spare mag lying beside the PMR and realized it was a little too big to exit the milk crates, unless it bounced over the top. (The PMR has an unusual mag release on the heal of the grip.) I actually like it.
It bugged me last night while trying to sleep, but I was not going to walk about 100' out to the metal outbuilding in the dark to look for it. I went out there this AM and looked down in the milkcrates. Oops, not there. Rut Roh. I moved/picked up my shorty helmet and it was underneath that. Yeah.........!!๐
Whew...........................................๐

That's how it goes every day around here. I spend more time looking for tools than I do actually using them.

Glad you found it
I cat say how many times lately I will realize my pocket knife is missing it drives me nuts thinking and back tracking until I find i nothing special that 25 dollars could not replace just a 3 blade case pocket knife but it was given to me and I have carried it at least 20 years .
But the same with a tool I am looking for and can't find I know I have one
many times I will get up out of bed go out in the shop untill I find it or at lest where I think it might be.
I am sure there's a name or heading like cumplisive disorder of some type maybe just old age lol

OCD Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I'm guilty.

They make an enhanced mag release that is suppose to prevent accidental mag releases. I looked at getting one for my PMR and then... well had a senior moment and got distracted..............

Isn't it odd how you always find what you're looking for in the last place you look.
Maybe it's because you stop looking after you've found it ......

I had one of those RUT ROH incidents yesterday. Deer season is coming up and I had a weather break from harvest so thought I'd do a little pre-season prep of rifle and equipment. Got the 6.5 out of it's case and opened the zipper pouch to check the spare mag. OOPS, no magazine. Spare ammo box but no mag. Went to the next place I might have put the spare and not there either.
Spent an hour looking through boxes of ammo and other plunder that had gone on the New Mexico trip but still nothing. Went to bed upset and couldn't sleep. Got up and went through most of the already checked locations but then remembered I'd used a hard case on the NM trip. Checked the empty(?) case and found the spare magazine. WHEW!!
Went back to bed and slept soundly.๐

Now, if I can only locate my OWB Kydex 642 holster. Used it two days ago. ๐ค
(And) My sweeper/scraper I put on my Jeep drivers side fender the other day, so I could throw it in the Jeep. Apparently, I drove off with it on the fender. (Preoccupied by Buddy.) "Wanna Go For A Ride?" His most favorite thing, ever.
