We have never inherited money. But, with what little extra we have we enjoy vacations (travel) and paying for our children and grandchildrens education.

    Glad for you.

Should be some firepower as a bonus.

I do not need any more "Firepower." I am pretty well covered.

Buddy, already has a large camo recliner. It is "His," chair.

I reached out to Oakie, for some heat/ac recommendations. I plan on reaching out to you Ed@Butchdog3, for some local Contractor suggestions. If you all would be so inclined.

An adult size ATV would be nice.

Dude, you beat me to it. Was over at my next door buddy/neighbor's house yesterday. He knows about the ongoing ribbing I take here, about my ATV. (I was on it at the time.) He said the exact same thing, even though my ATV will outrun his. (Easily.)

I replied, pointing to his UTV, "I like my ATV, I may buy one of those though, so Buddy can ride along." 👍😁

    Too Funny, Jim.

    Fix your plumbing issues !

That will be very difficult to do. There is Zero, room below my house to work on the plumbing issues. There is no room. They must have framed the floor in, stepped through and plumbed it with 1/2" PVC.

    Idiots.

Spend all the remaining, if you bank it, the soaring inflation will devalue your money in no time. So in a year's time your money in the bank will be worth 12 to 16% less than it is now in purchasing power. Take your fiat currency and buy something that will hold value, a store of value.

I know you’re a great guy, and I know you’re the kind to be inclined to help others.

So I say this with kindness intended.

Don’t tell others you have anything extra or coming to you. Sometimes good people will suddenly latch on for any dime they can get and it sucks.

Sorry for your loss, I didn’t know your mom but she raised a man I respect.

The only time I 'inherited' anything, I bought us out of hock at the bank and vowed to NEVER owe them money again. Thanks Mom.

Mother in law died last year. Grouch Attack inherited a substantial amount --AND HID IT ALL IN MULTIPLE BANKS. I guess that's an indication of how she feels about being a spouse.

Your mother would tell you to fix your plumbing.

Sorry for your loss, Ken. She must've been great gal to have raised such a son.

Thank You so much @NeoBlackdog/Steve. I appreciate your kind words.

My plumbing works fine. My concern is it freezing and the now brittle PVC shattering. One thought is to replace with Pex and bring the lines up in the house and run along the baseboard. It would only be exposed for about 5-6' of wall in my living room, along the back. Would be inside the Kitchen cabinets and then run right in to the Bathroom, so not a total eyesore.

*I am thinking perhaps I should/could make a donation to St. Jude. 🤔

I am not planning on going nuts buying stuff. Just things that need to be addressed on the house, possibly use some of it to go from 62 1/2 (now) and instead of filing to draw SS, wait until I am 65. My one concern there, is that I Croak and they get to keep ALL of it. 🤔😡

    The rest gets banked.

*The way my Sister sounded, what little $$ Mom had was "disappearing like Water," with her Medical Bills and rehab. "Assisted Living," was going to cost $7000/mo.

I learned Monday that the Condo on the Golf Course, where my Mom lived after my Dad died and they sold their Large Custom home on the Golf Course, was not owned by Her. My Sister and her Husband bought it for my Mom to live in, apprx 2012. It has appreciated in value so much, my Sister told my Mom to "Remove them from the Will," a couple years ago. As it will be substantially more than what my Brother and I will get. Very nice of her to do that. 🤔

My Sister also counciled my Mom a couple years ago to change her Will, when my Mom wanted my Sisters opinion on it. My Sister read it and looked at my Mom and said "Ken gets screwed here." My Mom asked how is that? Karen said Ken only has one Son and he has no kids and grandkids. Proportionally My Brother's Family and my Sister's would get substantially more $$. Instead of leaving a little bit of money to All the Kids, Grandkids and Great Grandkids. The Will was changed to go to each of us Three kids, equally. (Then) My Sister asked to be removed from that, citing the increase they would see from the sale of the Condo. They are not going to Sell it. They plan on keeping it, maybe have it become an Air B&B, and having a Mtn "Get Away," for Her and their Family. Is my Sister Great or what? 🤔

(My Brother, would have hosed me.)
