Is it cause I'm getting older????
So as my other thread we got snow this morning. Turned the interstate and all other road to a glazed sheet of ice. I drove into Bozeman this morning on the interstate. Was in 4x4 doing 20 mph as everyone else was. Came to creep n crawl. Three separate accidents along the way. I didn't like it at all but made it o.k. This stuff scares me anymore.
At the very same time my granddaughter in Bozeman was taking her driving test to get her license. She passed and received her new drivers license this morning. I was surprised they even conducted testing in these condition. But, I suppose they figure it's the same conditions she'll be driving in all the time.

Good for her to be able to pass under those circumstances... Means she did very well.

Everything is because you are getting older. Unlike the rest of us.š

YES!! on the getting older part! I have found that a soft cushioned steering wheel cover keeps your knuckles from turning WHITE in those conditions. š
I send congrats to your granddaughter getting her license to drive! A TRUE American rite of passage!

Why don't you get some Nokian Hakkepelliitta studded snow tires? That's what I use.

We get much more cautious and worried the older we get because we know that we can't see the starting line anymore but we have a clear view of the finish.
I look back at the things I've done over the years and say to myself "what the hell were you thinking?"
At this point in my life I take NO chances because I don't react as fast as I used to, I hurt easier than I used to, I heal much slower than I used to and I've seen too many bad things happen over the years.
I don't run, jump, swim, ski (water or snow), ride without a helmet, sky dive, scuba dive, jog or talk back to my wife. š
I still enjoy my motorcycles and my boats however just dialed back a notch or two.

Congratulations to the granddaughter.
look at it as getting wiser rather than getting older. As Iāve said in the past, your not old until it takes you an hour to get dressed up, and then another hour to remember what you got dressed up for.

Congratulations to your Granddaughter Joe. Looks like a good time to take her out for a celebratory dinner. You and Denise must be so proud of her. I hate driving in that stuff. Scares me to death. Not just you, but I think we all hate it as we get older. Oak

Granddaughter got her license recently. Grandson next summer. Makes me feel positively ancient. Can't imagine how I'll feel when one of them gets married.

waltermoe, I'm half way there. I'm getting older but when does that getting wiser kick in?

I think the āgetting wiserā kicks in right about the same time as forgetfulness

Both of my Granddaughters have their license and their own cars. I worry about them as they live in southern Ohio in an area where you can't see more than 20 feet ahead of you because of the hills and cliffs, and the crazy drivers.
