Nice! I'm glad it's coming to an end, and that all worked out. Yep, I'd get that dirt covered up. That stuff looks like it will turn into a total disaster if it gets wet.

Ohhh.....I've gone round and round with Larry about getting a pool. That is not happening!

Liam has said he plans to put a hot tub on the back porch instead of his weight bench.

Lucky Son... Very nice. I'm sure it's nicer than before this mess. Xyla is glad she didn't have to make the trip to gut Toby out 🐱😜

Hope that place is out of range from your place, as I recall Liam shoots houses...

A hot tub can add over 1,000-1,500 lb easily to that back deck, water is Heavy . Make sure it is sturdy enough.

+1 to @hoosier's comment. (Re, Hot tubs) 1st thing I thought of, when you posted that. Put it over in a corner, if possible.

Plus........sooner or later.........they can be maintenance nightmares.

Get a YMCA, or local gym, membership.............that'll also solve the weight bench problem.

It's good that you're getting things wrapped up quickly.........as the weather's gonna change just as quickly.

Is there some kind of tie-down system holding that thing down or is it just sittin' on the blocks?

It has tie downs, the state has been by to check things and we have to get them to come out and do more ties and we have to add some dirt to one end of the pad. The guys doing the prep for me said they'd be out this weekend to get the pad done. You never know what hiccups you'll run into.

The weight bench he owns WAS in his kitchen. It took up the whole dang room....it has the pulleys with the plates, a long bar with the huge weights and a rack full of weights. I told him we were not going to allow him to put that inside the new home. I didn't want to risk messing up the new floors, plus...who knows what kind of potential damage it would do to the sub-floor and such. So, I told him we would build a deck that was strong enough for it to go on....OR....he could pour his own pad and make his own weight room outside somewhere. He went nuts and said he was moving off somewhere else where he didn't have crazy rules. We said fine, we will get a renter. He changed his mind and is now fine with the plan. BUT....the "beefed up" porch has him thinking hot tub instead of the weights.

I swear, some days I think I fight 1000 battles.

Tell him he'll catch a lot more girls if he knows how to use that kitchen than he'll ever catch with a set of weights or a hot tub!
