Re: Urge to hunt.
My wife passed up a shot (30) yards at a 4 point mule deer standing behind a tree in thick brush. She had a perfect shot at a patch of hair probably 30 inches square but couldn't identify what part of the body it was. Not wanting to gut shoot it and knowing we couldn't track it in the heavy manzinita , she didn't shoot. Sure proud of my baby, I taught her well. Ed Life member VFW & NRA

Your wife is a smart, ethical hunter, with compassion for the sport she loves. Kudos to her. Many people would have taken the shot, and they would have been wrong to do so. This is something you cannot teach, but has to be instilled upon you. My father always told me, If you don't have respect for the animals you are hunting, then don't hunt. Period. Hope you and your wife have a successful season. God Bless, Oakie

Smart. Clear shot or NO shot is the only way to go.

Years ago we had a game ranger's horse shot out from under him and the ranger was wearing an orange vest, the person that took the shot swore it was a buck .............................. until it wasn't.
Guy went to jail and forfeited all of his equipment.
