Odd Rifles
I have a Hi Standard, and a Smith & Wesson chambered in .270 and a Colt, an Ithaca, and a Stevens in .30/06. It seems strange to see those names on rifles chambered for center-fire rifle cartridges.
What are your odd ones?

I have a Winchester barreled Marlin receiver/stock .25-20 as the odd duck.

Some of those mentioned are made by HOWA. HOWA rifles were sold by S&W, Weatherby, and maybe 2-3 other 'big name' firearms brands.

Those Smith & Wesson's are nice rifles and mine is a model 1500 made in Japan, also 270. Ithaca LSA 's are built in Finland Sako style and are the berries. I have a Husqvarna in 270 also, not odd but not many around.
Anshutz in 17 Mach 2 is an odd one.
Bingham PPS-50 Pietta which is on here for sale is quite rare also in the deluxe version.
I loved through the years buying the odd stuff that no one heard of or wanted only to be rewarded later on.

@Ambrose Is your Colt an early Coltsman? If so, it could be on either a Sako or FN action. Mine is a .243 on a Sako L57 "dovetail" action.

I have a 1888 commission carbine in 7x57 made by Haenel in 1906, I have heard but not verified it was made for the south American market.

Ithaca and Hi Standard are pretty cool but the others, while not real popular or made long, are not unusual. I have never seen either of those two in a rifle that I recall, can you post some photos of them so I can check them out.
Smith&Wesson had the ibolt, an abysmal failure basically made by Thompson/Center, a company Smith&Wesson owned.
Stevens has been owned by Savage for a quite some time and made budget rifles under the Stevens line.
Colt rifles were made by Sauer of Germany in just a couple calibers.

As far as odd ones I own, I have a Husqvarna 22lr. I have Several rarer rifles in common brands but not real unusual brands for rifles only.

H&R made some nice rifles using Sako L461 actions......back in the day.
My favorite were the Model 317 and 317P lightweights in 17-223, 17Rem, 222, and 223.

I have a couple of old rifles. One made by National Postal Meter and one made by Quality Hardware and Machine Company.
I also have an old pistol made by Union Switch and Signal.

Stevens 25-25 falling block, neat little rifle. Very, very accurate.

Follow-up: The Hi Standard is built on a Husqvarna action, the Smith & Wesson is a Howa. the Colt is a Sako L61, the Ithaca is LSA, and the Stevens is just a 110 with the Stevens name instead of Savage.

I have a Gyrojet carbine AND pistol. Doesn't get much odder than that! Wish someone would make some ammo for them, I've never shot either one. :(

Contact MrMike. He "owned all that stuff, his Dad was involved in the development of the Gyrojet." He probably has a bit of ammunition available.
Then again, maybe not.
*He's probably still working on that Custom Mauser Rifle. 🙄

Not really odd, But I have a Marlin 336 in 219 Zipper. Bought it for 500 bucks, from a store that was going out of business, about seven years ago. Haven't shot it yet, but do have ammo for it.
