To add to the drift , my daughter was notorious for a few years doing something similar. She would buy shoes for a fancy occasion . Wear them once or twice and then return them . This happened multiplie times until I found out . Soon put a stop to it

The last pair of shoes I bought looked like they might have been worn slightly. They were just the ones I wanted and the last pair in my size. Asked the salesman for a discount, he looked them over and agreed with my assumption. Took off 40%!

I have SO MANY Stories, I could add. Manager Of a very large Outdoor Adventure Equipment Store for apprx 25 years.

We called them "No Charge Rentals."

Everything they bought, something was wrong with it, wanted to return pretty much everything, after their "Vacation."

All my buddies said, I should write a book. Nah.........................

*I have a very low threshold for dishonest folk. Eventually got burnt out working/managing Retail. Went to other endeavors.

I know a guy that back when Wal Mart was first expanding with new stores, he would buy a Deer rifle few days before deer season then after season closed or he got his Quota he would return the deer rifle for a refund, then buy a chainsaw and cut himself some firewood then return the chainsaw for a refund.

He did this for about 3 continuous years and bragged about such.

Wal-Mart eventually re-vised their return policies for Guns and Chainsaws.

He did not like Wal-Mart stores as much after they changed their warranty/refund policies.

I told him that with his qualifications he should think about getting into politics on the Democratic ticket. He just smiled.

We used to have a member here who did things like that.

It might pain some of you Walmart boycotters to know that Little Debbie is producing two new special holiday baked treats - to be sold only at Wallie's place.

Yep, go to Harbor Freight, buy jack and jackstands. Work on car. Return tools to Harbor Freight when finished. Only a low rent individual would pull such nonsense.

Harbor Freight got wise on that, now you need to pay extra for in store insurance which allows you to swap an item out within a certain amount of time. I did that on 2 vehicle winches I bought from them. Already swapped one of them out for a better / heavier weight one.
