Sorry to see and Herr of your apple ttescm 9mm

We planted several apple varations of trees 30 + yrs ago

Down to just one but this year it's produced the best looking apples in a long time

We don't trim or spray them leave up to nature but over time loosing the othet ones was a bit sad

We only have two pear trees left also same story over time they have died off

But this year it was wet spring and weather conditions allowed the apple tree and both pear trees just went crazy on fruit production

Around here, we take the apple tree out of the pot and plant it in the ground. 😁

I could kill an artificial plant with my green thumb. My son planted my wife three trees when he was ten. Two apple trees and a cherry tree. The cherry tree is huge and produces like nobody's business. The apple trees started producing about five or so years ago, but the squirrels eat them all. They produce some kind of green apples. Our neighbor who has the farm next to us, picks all our cherries and makes us a few pies each year. I don't particularly like cherry pie, but my wife loves it. We just have to beat the black birds to them. They can wife out the whole tree in one day.

why?? if you leave the tree in the bucket, when the apples fall off, you will have a bucket to carry them in......

Fruit trees tend not to be long lived as trees go. But losing a fine old tree can be like losing a friend. Plant a new friend Rae.

Would it be possible to take some healthy branches from that tree and graft them onto a new trunk?

The branches could be rooted if done right.

Ok, now I see, at first I thought you were talking about the tree in the pot. When we first bought are place 31 years ago there were 13 apple trees in and round the yard. Every time we went to mow it would take around 45 minutes to pick up apples before we could mow, and that is not to mention all the bees and wasps that thought the trees were their’s . After 2 years all I can say is, we went after the trees with a chain saw like Benihana going after a steak.

I use to buy my mom miniature dogwood trees when I was young. Mom loves them. She still has two of them growing in her yard.
