    When in doubt: KROIL IT

At this point it can't do any harm. Soak the entire bolt head in Kroil, Hoppes #9, or whatever your go to liquid solvent/lubricant may be.

In fact, this may not be an ejector problem but possibly a weak extractor spring that's allowing the extractor to slip off the rim during more vigorous movement.

An update. I did kroil it, first thing I almost always try, and it worked better but took it to a smith and he removed the plunger and cleaned everything out and now it is working as it should. Simple job but I thought I may have trouble reinstalling the roll pin while holding the plunger down by myself so I just took it to the smith.

Re-assembling the ejector plunger is tricky. There's a tool for that but probably not worthwhile for a one time need.
