been there, have a buddy I served with at camp lejeune who has brain cancer and he goes into short comas and they call em gramma seizures, he calls when he is feeling good, which is farther and farther apart. I finally broke down and went to visit him last year, it was tough to see him that way, but it did make his day to talk and catch up on last 30 years.

Since you are retired if possible you may want to drive up to see him, it would make his day, and you won't regret it if something were to happen.....

    prayers sent for all involved

This "Ranger," saw a lot of Combat in places we were never "officially" there. 2nd Bat/75th Rangers is "The Best of the Best." (The Ranger SWAT Force.) One of the few Rangers that got to experience "The Mogadishu Mile," in Somalia. He's "Been there, done that." You have to really get to know him, to learn any of this - and it's like pulling teeth. You have to be a Military Brother and Tight, to hear Any of it. He just doesn't talk about it.

I'm crying just now, thinking about it all. (But) People like Diane Feinstein live to be 90? This guy has earned retirement. When I told him I had "Retired," three months ago, he replied "I'm never going to see that." 😓

A total Gut punch. Just texted him, "I Love You, Brother."

Both of you in our prayers.

The old saying that the good die young seems to be gaining credibility lately. We recently lost a good friend as well. Once you reach a certain age it becomes an almost regular occurrence. Unfortunately, useless folks like Feinstein linger on almost forever. Bob

This Guy, is the Best Friend I have ever had in my Life. Leaving him behind, when I finally moved down South, was difficult and my biggest regret. (As I just told him, again.)

Friend's like that, do not come around, more than once in a Lifetime.

I let him know @hillbille, he needs to talk to me/coordinate when I can fly up/stay/see him. He is too stubborn to open up, in his time of need. I've talked to several of our shared Brother's, to reach out. (We've all moved, all over the US.)

I Love the Guy and would do ANYTHING, for him.

    He is my "True Friend."

He is the greatest/most Patriotic guy, I know. I am Absolutely Priveledged to call him my Friend.

A once in a Lifetime Friend. (Few and very far between.) I do not make friends easily. Our friendship, just came naturally. Hard earned, and worth every second. My Brother.

My sincere best wishes for a fellow veteran. There are no easy answers for a situation like this. "Life is hard, harder for some." An ancient Greek philosopher.

My best friend moved to Georgia several years ago. Yesterday I got a call from him. He had a massive heart attack and is pretty much incapacitated. His balance is shot, and he can barely walk anymore. He is 89 years old and going downhill fast. We always helped each other with our projects. He is living with his daughter and she is taking good care of him. She told me when he dies she is going to call me. He will be brought up here for his funeral and buried with his wife.

Another friend told me once that the worst part of getting older is that you lose your friends and relatives.

    Joe
