I'd sure like to see and hear more about that thumb trigger model!

Congrats on the new addition in your collection.

Even though I'm a girl lol I love the boys rifles and bought my first here on GunBroker. It's a J Stevens Little Scout .22 and little it is.

A good friend of mine let me shoot one of his old Winchester thumb trigger rifles a few years ago. Having before never knew of such a trigger system existed. A fun gun and a great learning experience for me!

Here is a picture of the Thumtriggers action. You pull the knob to cock the rifle and it engages the sear on the thumb piece. To fire just depress the thumbpiece.

wundudnee, do you know if this model is the only thumb trigger rifle that was made by Winchester? I cannot remember what rifle I was shooting.

As ar as I know that was the only model made with the thumb trigger. The reason they're so scarce in this country most were sent to Australia. They were popular as rabbit guns. A lot of these little rifles ended up there.

I guess this is a boy's rifle.........my first gun. Winchester 1906. Got it as a Christmas present from my dad when I was 12. The year before he passed away from cancer..........1980. I won't ever get rid of it.
