Wisconsin gun deer season opens Saturday
Our gun deer season opens this Saturday. Don't know how much hunting I will do, my knees ain't what the used to be. Not going to do a tree stand this year, too hard to bend the knees. Got a nice pop-up ground blind and a nice chair.
I'm a meat hunter, venison backstraps are good from either buck or doe. BUT, I'm kinda' pumped as there are 2 bucks running around here, a 10 and a 12 pointer. Never have gotten a big rack, so these 2 fellows have my heart a racin'.

good luck to you , your knees sound very much like mine , and like you I also have a ground blind sit up along with a chair and small heater , doesn't sound like we will need the heater but it doesn't hurt to have it there ,
what part of WI ?

I'm in the south-east corner, about 15 miles north-east of Lake Geneva, 6 miles striaght east of Alpine Valley Ski Resort.

Used to do the butchering myself. Then got lazy (old) and had it done. Learned to request that the back straps and tenderloins be wrapped in separate packages! Then as many steaks and chops as possible, then roasts and he balance ground up.

I'm just N. of Wausau, I turn 3/4 century tomorrow so this will be my 58th deer hunt (missed 2 for my senior class trip to S.E. Asia)

SW Wisconsin deer camp here, beautiful Driftless Area. Just hopin to fill the freezer. Gonna be a short season for our camp because of family commitments. 44pinshooter my son lives in Genoa City, almost within walkin distance from you.
