It's a 94/22. There is a screw that hold the finger lever spring and plates. It probably came a little lose and is preventing it from closing all the way. You can see in the pictures, the cant of the slide is slightly laying downwards. The first thing I would try is, Take it apart and clean the action really good. It might be really gummed up. If that doesn't work, look at the screw and make sure it is seated properly. Oake

Bubba gun for sure. Can you take it apart and give it a good scrubbing.

Find a schematic drawing for a 9422 and see if it has all the parts.

The 8422 is a very rare gun.

Mercy, don't dry fire a rim fire.

    sorry, long gone

once it gets here i CAN show you the replacement i fitted

an old take off that i could JUST get rid of 9% of the damage and fit up

    What Butch said........

Unless you know for a fact, and have proven it to yourself, that a given rimfire has a limited-travel firing pin(my S&W Model 41 is one)......NEVER🤯pull the trigger on an unloaded cocked rimfire.

I normally keep an empty/fired hull, with action de-cocked, in my rimfires.

    Hope this helps.

was not me dry firing, although ive told him a few thousand times...

got it late tonight, it is a 9422

the take off stock i fitted up for him, it had damage where it meets the receiver but till fitted only a couple small chips remain

and of course it got some checkering and did the for arm as well

so see how i feel tomorrow as to taking a look see what the current issue is

    proof of bubba...

but if he messed up the take down screw, why didnt he clean something ?

bolt face, notice only clean spot is the shell base area

    and the breach face ?

but after a thorough cleaning still no love on a good lock up, seeing a bit of visual wear on the close side of the finger lever arm, so new one will be on the way shortly and hope that solves the issue

Get 'er cleaned up and the new part in. I'm sure you'll have it running again.
