    The only thing I’m curious about is why the serial number on the take down barrel is a different font

    Toby, it looks like the serial on the barrel assembly has been filed off, and a matching number applied. It's in the correct serial number range, and made in 1942. The bottom of the barrel should have a date code stamped on it, check that.

    Another good catch TRAPP. That definitely is not the Winchester stamped serial number. Unfortunately it is now a made-up Trench Gun fake.

    I am (however) wondering how you thought $2K was a fair price. (2/3rd's under value, if a true 1897 Trench Gun,) If you did not even recognize the "Flaming Bomb?" 🤔
