Enjoy your rifle when you get it @Oakie.

My rifle didn't get lost but it was a pain... And then when I bid I have to basically think about the 140.00 to get it.

    Shipping 50.00 give or take

    FFL Transfer 50.00

    Background check 40.00

went to a local gun show today and spotted a nice Astra a-80 in .45 acp, haggled a bit and said OK. filled out 2 forms Fed. 4473 and state handgun form (wis.). 10 minutes later paid cash and on my way home .

shipping was 38. Transfer was 50 and background check cost me 15. I then spent another 30 bucks for the lost check. URRRRRRG. 133.00. This is why I try to buy most of my guns at shows, but Gunbroker gives me a better variety, and I can find the one I want.

$40 for a background check. $50 for the FFL transfer. Good Grief!

My FFL transfer is an ounce of silver (currently about $23) and with a concealed carry license there is no background check. I guess you don't even need a concealed carry permit here any more but I keep mine up regardless.

My FFL dealer is an old friend and likes silver. I bought a lot of it back in the mid-eighties so I am happy to oblige.

That $50 transfer is a sweet heart deal, some charge 3x that much. The $40 DOJ background check comes back "Undetermined", and the FFL doesn't release after 30days, you have to pay it again, and that's been the norm for last decade. Then cross your fingers that you don't have to do it again!

The last time I bought a pair of broken .22's from Locust Fork, was a few years ago, I paid more to get them in my hands, than I paid for the guns. That almost didn't happen, if Kasey hadn't gone out of her way to work with me on it, it may not have. She's a sweetheart! Got em both fixed, and they're tack drivers.

I have also had the Post Office lose money orders for guns, twice. Place cuss word here ____________

I've been tempted to send money orders in a box via USPS. Seems like they loose boxes less often.
