When I get a new gun, I just wait until Hot Momma isn't home, go out to my car trunk and move the new "friend" to my safe.

I wait a few weeks and get a few "friends" out of the safe for a good cleaning/oiling. Momma has no clue!!πŸ˜‚

There is no need to upset the little dears as long as there is money for groceries, gas,, bills, etc. I am reducing my inventory so a new piece occasionally doesn't stand out.

A friend would also sneak them in, figuring that his wife wouldn't notice. Then one day she said, "Do you think I'm too stupid to know why you needed to buy another safe?"

Guess that is why I have ex-wives. I never hid them. I earned it I will spend it.

My Bride always asks what gun do you want for your Birthday....... No need to sneak around with a new firearm in my house. !!!! She knows about every one of them.

That's been my modus-operandi since about 1985.........subject to slight variations via friends, gun shows, estate/garage sales, etc.

I keep telling myself that my (much) better half is oblivious to my subterfuge........for almost 46 years.

    Yeah..........sure.......πŸ™„

I once made the BIG mistake of giving my bride a very nice rifle that I was wanting for as a Christmas present.

She is not a gun gal and I was left WANTING for several months thereafter!! 😲

I guess I'm pretty lucky, when I brought a new gun home, she would just look at it and tell me to go ahead and take it to the basement and put it in the safe.

I have all I need and the only gun I wound up with lately was one my father had on his yacht when he sailed to the Bahamas.

The newly married wife said to the new husband, "We need to get rid of your guns, You have too many"

The newly married husband said, You sound like my EX wife".

She said "YOU TOLD ME YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN MARRIED"

    He said, "That is correct"

The only time my wife has ever said anything was over 30 years ago.

I brought home a new stainless Ruger Super Redhawk.

She says, "how much did that cost? A couple hundred dollars?"

I said yes and went to the basement.

A man once told me when your wife asks you why you need 4 guns your in trouble because she knows how many you have.

When she asks why do you need so many, she has lost track.

My wife used to pester me and get mildly upset when I would buy an old gun.

The time I spent a grand on another and sold it 3 months later for 10 grand, she now just smiles at me and says keep looking!!

I tried to hide guns a long time ago. She knows everyone I have. Now I just ask if it is okay if I purchase an investment. No problem. I bought a 1929 Winchester saddle ring in 32 winchester special, for three hundred bucks. Took it to a gun show the next week, and came home with 1,300 bucks and a new Marlin 41 magnum. I gave her the 1,300 bucks for the savings account. She never questioned me about purchases again. On the other hand, I never question her, when she comes home with something she really wants. This is why we don't buy each other christmas gifts, because we have Christmas all year long. I found that hiding stuff from her, only causes myself a lot of grief. Now I just tell her my plans. If she does say no, it is for a good reason.
