I have to say I have set foot in every state in the Union thanks to the U.S. Air Force. Finnaly got to Rhode Island when we were in the area and had some engine trouble and landed at a military base there for repair.

I got 50 but I'm confused on the criteria of stopped, visited, passed?

    40 for me.

I'd probably get 146, as I've been to all 48 contiguous states as a trucker, but only lived in one. Maybe 148, if you count a few school years of college dorm life as "living" in another state.

I would definitely think that counts as living.

So, this is the way I looked at it. If I drove through without stopping for anything (not even to fill up a gas tank) then it was passed. If I stopped for lunch with a friend, or had a long layover on a flight, that was stopped. If I spent time visiting various places there- sight seeing and maybe doing touristy things, then it was visited. If I spent at least one night in a hotel I've stayed there. And If I called the state my permanent residence for any length of time, I lived there.

I am close to max, been to every state except VT.

They need to have points for states you want to avoid. IE: IL, MA, NY and other blue states.

If you have only been to the Boise area, your Idaho results don't count.

To be clear, the max is based on having lived in all 50 states and the 5 "extras".
