I know what you mean. I paint3d all my 10mm wrenches and sockets fluorescent orange.

    I still lose them.

I have to ask, did you find it after you went out and bought a new one?? Murphy has to keep his law in motion.

I once rebuilt a Honda 350 motorcycle engine with only a 10 mm combination wrench and a pair of vise grips.

Yep, Jim is right. I took his advise & painted anything 10mm with red paint.

Whoever machined that vise was in a big hurry.

The feed rate was really fast.

10mm is the most lost socket/wrench in the universe and without a doubt, the hardest to locate once lost.

This is a scientifically proven fact ....................................... ask anyone who has ever owned one.

    Have to add

Ever notice when you drop a socket . When you do see where it went it seems to roll dead center and stop just out of reach under the car / truck

That vise has dirt in the mounting bolt hole. Did ya dig that up along with the socket??

It was given to me in the condition in which it presently exists. I have another vise of similar size which I prefer due to its higher quality. So this one sits. Being a gift, I don't really want to part with it, just yet. But I may hand it down to one of my sons-in-law (one is a to-be SIL).
