Way too early to prune Crepe Myrtles, should only be pruned after the last frost in the early spring.

I have them too and I also am getting too old for it .................. and many other things. 😉

I’m getting to old for this.

Well, lucky for you......it seems to be already trimmed! 😁

    Just sayin'

Nice! Those things are so pretty, but can get so out of hand. We had some GIANTS on our last property. Larry's mom has some right next to her house that they have to stay on top of. I thought about planting some here....but I know I'm too lazy to deal with them properly.

That is a SUPER CUTE place!

My driveway is lined with them. Made the mistake of letting them bush out rather than keeping them trimmed when I planted them . Real good chance thst they may all disappear sometime soon

My body tells me I'm too old to do a lot of things my brain says go for it

A old buddy from my youth worked at a small green house in our area they paid him I think it eight or ten cents a bundle to tie myrtles in small bundles up for sale that was in 1974 /1975

Good work. A lot of folks make the mistake of cutting them off right above branch forks, which leads to big ugly knots. Always trim a Crepe Myrtle branch at least a few inches below a fork to ensure pretty growth the following season.

As far as timing, I recall the ideal pruning time is February. However, I think the second best time is.....whenever your mom says so.

Mom is a tiny sweet soft spoken 91 year old. She asks for very little so when she does ask for something… well I do it.

I trimmed my 88 yo mothers about a month ago. I gave them a flat top with the HS 82 T hedge trimmer.
