Back in the old days when Judy and I were both working, we kept a few frozen meals around for the days we were to busy for cooking. They pretty much all sucked and when we retired, I stopped buying them. Every few years I'll try a few to see if they magically have become even faintly edible. Nope, the graphics on the box or bags have changed but the food still stinks. Of course if the graphics on the box even remotely resembled the food inside no one would buy them. Their marketing is definitely better than their culinary expertise. 😝 Bob

It's "shrinkflation" Yosh. Same product, same package size, same price. Just less inside.

I once asked why the hamburger I received looked nothing at all like the one on the overhead menu. The brainless server insisted that it was the same. I handed him a one-dollar bill and said "This is a menu ten."

I wonder how they get so much sodium into those meals and is it the only way they can add taste?

I think they used a small plate to dish up the image for the cover then blow up the image. They did use crap load of black pepper in the mash.

Now Salisbury Steak one tonight is better.

Rocky Raab - I just opened a can of Vienna sausage and saw what you mean. There was like 1/2" space where sausages used to take up.

Also I heard "Big Mac" is going to be a "Medium Mac". Something about the meat patties shrinking.

just simple physics Yoshy, the older you get and the bigger your belly gets the smaller the portions seem, fill remaining space with beer............

Ken, the more we age, the more our "meat loaf" becomes Vienna sausage.

When I read the title when first posted, my thought was "that's what she said" but decided no I won't go there, of course I knew some of you would eventually go there... but you took your time...

The ball doesn't always go in the gutter right off the get-go, Brett, sometimes it almost makes it to the pins....

bs233jl, along that same thought, when asked by a stranger if I know so or so in this town of 400 I say no, I move out of Indy 41 years ago to have some land - not to meet new friends and I've done a really good job at that.

Meatloaf is one of the easiest dishes to make in the microwave. We like the teriyaki best.

So while at Walmart picking up DVDs I picked up couple of Hungry Man. Got the Home-Style Meatloaf and it also looks smaller than I remember. It still weighs 16 ounces but I think it's mainly water in the "mash"? Next time I think I'll have to add one of those Banquet .99 cents pot pies.

Been a long time since I sampled a TV dinner. So long ago, they were packaged in foil divided plates. The fried chicken wasn't too bad and was still attached to the bones in those days. I cannot remember if I ate the Banquet or Swanson dinners.

I still will buy a few Stouffer's frozen meal products like their French bread pizza, or Lasagna which are easy and not too bad. So far, the food has not shrunk in size but the prices have gone up considerably in the last year.

Swanson's haven't had that in decades. I remember it being in a foil food tray. Pretty sure the eats got smaller be silly if they made the packaging larger.

I just opened up a large can container of Nestles Hot Coco powder. The can was only about 1\2 full! 😣

Open any bag of chips or Cheetos and you get mostly snack scented air. This kills me everytime I buy Funnyuns at what $6.00 a bag now? The thing that makes me mad is that Funnyuns never go on sale. Not like Cheetos where I can buy a bag when on sale for like $1.90.

@yoshmyster have you bought a half gallon of Safeway Select Ice Cream lately? It's now a quart and a half.... Everything is smaller and more expensive.

    Brook......

"..........some settling may occur during shipment......".😖

    Funny..........how the price NEVER "settles".......🤯

BTW........as a poor young bachelor......Swansons were pretty much the only thing that kept me ALIVE!!!🤤🥴
