speaking about dogs
I will be digging a hole soon and it will be a truly sad day as always
we have a wiener dog I got my wife as a birthday present 15 +years ago we had a female wiener dog Wendy passed two years ago she was 13 at the time
Butch is not doing well and I know its maybe a matter of weeks if that we Montor him close each day
I think we will have to make the long tearful drive to the vet to assist soon his quality of life is going fast
we have a pet cemetery in our back yard ( after 35 or so years we have our share of departed loved ones their I would have to count how many .
two of them most recent a German Shepard ( Buddy ) and a pound hound rescue mostly brown lab Betsy one of the sweetest dogs ever
when Buddys time came we had the vet come to our house and had are two sons come over also
as they had grew up with buddy we all said good by and a lot of crying same with Betsy
we lost Betsy and buddy a few years apart both were in January coldest time possible here I had pre dug the graves. knowing they had little time back int fall of each year
when it came time to say good by and bury each one has about 6 to 7 hundred pounds of concrete on them as the ground was frozen solid and I had the concrete on hand and used it to fill around them
if they ever get dug up generations if ever in the future someone will wondering WTH

Lost our best friend in March. Had to put him down, diabetic seizures and went blind.
He spent 12 years with us, went every where we went, he had service papers.
Toy Yorkie. Heart broken to say the least. They give you all their heart and take yours when the pass.

My younger daughter had a beagle mix that took the 'final ride" to the vet 3 times over the course of 3 - 4 years. Each time he seemed to be in pitiful shape ( passing blood, couldn't stand or walk, whimpering , etc.) until he got there, seemed to realize where he was (and why) and made an immediate and amazing recovery, coming home to be normal for a year or more each time. Unfortunately, about a month ago at the age of 15 he became unable to lift his hind quarters at all and was crying constantly. This 4th time there was no recovery. He is sorely missed by the entire family, as well as the 2 pits and1 aussie he was alpha over. It is fascinating to see how a pack reacts when their alpha passes.

I lost my beloved Cedar in May of 2020... I still miss her terrible... She moved in with us in I think 2006? It's so hard to lose them. Lost our horrible rescue Chihuahua Lily then you realize how much you love them.

About 35 years give or take our first German Shepard Ginger time had ran out her her hips were gone she struggling with other issues
I had never had to have a pet put down but I took her to the vet we got in the office and she was like a new dog made me feel like a heel
The vet knew also her condituon it still haunts me I had it done
I know it was the best over all I was much younger , and was not so easy to bring tears unlike now
Like all our pets in the past each has place in my heart and took piece with them .
