Mariners get 2 RHPs from Braves for Kelenic, Gonzales, White
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Mere hours after Jerry Dipoto and the rest of the Mariners’ front office touched down in Tennessee for the Winter Meetings, Seattle’s president of baseball operations had executed the first trade at baseball’s premier offseason event. And it was as eye-opening as it was confounding.

I wish he could have stayed with the Braves. I'm a fan.

Wow!!! Congrats to him. I look forward to watching him as we are Mariner fans.

I hope the Mariners take care of him and allow him to further develop as a great pitcher.

The team has brought on and went through a ton of pitchers last couple years. Mariners have traded the best of our batters and fielders for new pitchers, many that came with impressive stats.

But, seems they get with the Mariners and fall apart before our eyes. Way too coincidental in my opinion for that many pitchers, from so many backgrounds, records and playing history to have them all fall apart. Instead of continuously bringing in and replacing pitchers, I feel a cleanup of the pitching COACHING STAFF is in order.

MJ, you're right most pitching coaches worry more about where your foot lands after the delivery is made than where the ball lands in the zone thus screwing up a lot of arms and shoulders at very young ages. My thoughts are if your arm is good enough to get a pitcher into pro ball leave the kid alone, what works physically for Johnny may not work for Billy. Been there -done that 🙄

I say this as a long time mariner's fan: I hope he doesn't expect to win anything.

    But congrats to him!

And we just had a local kid that made it big a few years back get traded from the Seattle Mariners to the Atlanta Braves wonder if they were both part of the deal. I'd rather be traded to the Braves then away from them.

I have never met Cole, but his Father, Mark and Mark's brother's (5) are all fine men. My great grandfather Harry Phillips would be proud of them.
