Massive Fire Stamford, NY
This happened around 6PM last night. it is the town my daughter lives in and where i am recouperating.. Heather lives outside of town higher up on mountain. Many people were displaced and town and Red Cross are helping. The pictures are out there if anyone is interested. Sorry I can't be of more help.------Ray

My SIL is good friends with the building inspector and just talked to him. Because of the Balloon Construction, all three buildings will be torn down. Without searching not sure what that means exactly------------------Ray

Balloon wall construction involves long studs reaching from floor plate to rafters encompassing more than one floor. A fire in the wall would spread quickly between floors with no cross piece to hinder the flames. Popular many years ago (my previous house was built that way, ca. 1924).
