Buddy's Favorite Thing Ever -
Just got back from going for a Ride. His Favorite thing EVER. He will literally drag me to the Jeep, once his Harness is on. Then will sit nicely in the passenger seat, (but) keep handing me his paw to hold, or want to give me Kisses. The look on his face, is Priceless. He is So Happy.
Once in the Store, he is extremely well behaved. Multiple people, (8-10) had to come up to pet him. "Look He's Smiling." Yes he is. He LOVES this. Buddy went up to a little girl, (4-5 yrs age) while we were walking by. Wanting Love. He got it. (Even the Girl's Mom was laughing.) "What a Sweetheart."
Everybody say's, "That is (by far) the friendliest Pit Bull, I have ever encountered."
*Unless you show up on our Property unannounced. He is a different dog then. (Which is Perfect.)
(Sorry. Just bragging about my Buddy.)
Best dog, EVER.

My bulldog liked to ride but that was her second favorite thing. Her absolute favorite was catching a cat.

As Friendly as Buddy is with People, (when he is out with me,)
He would put a serious hurting on any animal he could get ahold of. I've tried (bent over backwards) to make sure that does not happen. (And have.)
If, I could adopt/bring in a little Toy Jack Russell, like Willie Jr, I would in a heartbeat.

These two love to car ride
Bear thinks he can drive

If I had ANY doubts about Buddy, out in Public - he would not be out in Public.
(As I have told multiple people.)
I have been told repeatedly over the years, "What an absolutely Great Ambassador for the Breed." "I used to be extremely scared of Pit Bull's in general." Etc.
People flock to him, because he is "Smiling," and so obviously loving the attention. (Everywhere we go.)

Post a picture of buddy. I will make sure I have a pocket full of Bacon when I come up. Our neighbor has a pit that is the best dog ever. His name is buddy also. They just moved to Utah. Very sad day for us and our dog, as they were best friends. My little chihuahua would chase that pit around the yard until he would lay down. Then she would jump on him and pretend to be wrestling and biting him. That pits tail would be going a mile a minute as we all laughed.

Ken, my neighbor across the street (NYPD 9 Years) had a pit bull and he died while Carlos was running with him. He was devastated. Tried forever to get in K9 but impossible unless someone retires or dies. Because of this and all the unrest he quit the Force and became a F,ireman. He has a new pit bull now a real Angel. Her name is Penny, Will send you a picture when I get home.-------------Ray

Ray, I tried to join the Army, as a "Dog Handler." (My ASVAB scores were off the chart.) That was one of the very few MOS's closed to me. At that time, you had to have 5 years Civilian experience as a Dog Handler, in order to garner that MOS.

Ken, never Knew that. Think I was way before you in 1961. Believe they called them AOT scores in my day and they were sorta high. Never considered myself super smart. In AIT they marched us up the hill to a chapel in Ft Jackson and lectured a few of us in Co to sign up for OCS. Only hitch serve one extra year. No way. I was a 642.10 heavy vehicle operator and ended up driving Gen. Westmoreland as only E4 in US ARMY driving a three star probably. Go figure. He was a hard nosed Gen. You hated him or liked him and not many did I guess. He treated me right.--------------Ray

I was offerred West Point in Basic @4205raymond. I turned it down, because it was committing to 9 years as a 17 yr old. (1 year West Point Prep, 4 years West Point, then 4 years Active Duty.) What a Dummy. Sure wish I had the opportunity/Foresight to make that decision again. π
Yeah, I constantly think about that decision. What a different path my life would have taken. Oh well.

My departed in laws had a pit bull named daisy she was one Friendly' dog she loved attention I never seen her even growl at any one or another dog or cat
She died of a heart attack best we could guess my FIL and her were walking back to the house after daily walk She always just followed him no leash or collar
Any way she just fell over DRT. Now She was older and over weight so why we think she had the heart attack
He took it hard even being the rough old guy he was
Some yrs later a heart attack took out my FIL ...
I hope they met up at the rain bow bridge

Ken, had a long talk with Westy in front of Qrts 100 my last day. Nam was on the horizon and he was headed for Presidio to learn Vietnamiese. He tried to get me to stay in. I am sure I would have been promoted and sent to Nam with him. I was too short to be extended. Three years was enough. Still, the letters that Westy, his Aids, Transportation Officer and my Co, wrote, set the stage for the rest of my life.
I was discharged married to my sweetheart Diane and jobless. I was petrified. in a couple of weeks I started to work in a machine shop. Life goes on. Sometimes I look back too but not very often. ---------------Ray

The little 4-5 yr old girl, was initially apprehensive. Holding her hands up beside her head. Once Buddy gave her a lick on the side of her face, She realized what he was all about. (And) I told her, he just wants some Love. It was, (as always) remarkable to watch the transformation from fear to Love.
*Love the Dog photo's. Keep them coming, Please.

Just got back from a beer run, with Buddy. (Food Lion.)
He got (again) copious loving. There was one family, with a Special Needs child, right in front of me in line checking out. The whole family gave him love, I got Buddy to stand up on the cart and give the little boy LOVE/Kisses. They were both ecstatic. (I firmly believe, dogs just know.) Tons of people came over to show Buddy Love. Went out, got in the Jeep, and was giving Buddy Love/Kisses, telling him (again) "What a good dog." A lady saw us and came over to talk and ask, "Is that your best friend?" Me - Yes.
She reached in through the open window and gave Buddy more Love.
I told multiple people while they were laughing/getting Love/Licked, "Watch out, big scary Pit Bull." To more laughs.
Best dog EVER. ππ
